hardly surprising with the weather the way it is here that I've now retreated down under to the land of Oz where endlessly sunny blue skies ruled throughout the 1970/80s as we take in yet more of Alan Mortimer's exquisite Australian film of WA, SA, ACT and QLD although Perth makes up the majority by far. I'm downloading the last of the master tapes and should be editing through this evening. I'm not sure how much film it will add up to perhaps enough for 2 DVDs, we'll just have to wait and see. It really has been dark and drear outside albeit less cold today. I was catching up with some data from recent training and then had a session getting the Cuba trip details all sorted in order and phoning up to chase the tourist cards we need and checking out one address which Google earth maps really did not want to put in the correct spot. The Wrexham security card DVD clip on Youtube seems to be taking off with comments flooding in, I'm not sure what the outcome will be but at last I was in the minority and I can't have the tables turned on me like the fuss tried in Scotland at that great flop this summer in Glasgow when the world saw just how miserable the Scots can be and how the reputation for tightness saw rampant profiteering on visitors in the city. The police there demonstrated their racialist attitudes although to be fair there were many who were the exact opposite but it takes few bad apples in the barrel to spoil the whole tub. It's also been a bad finish for Arriva this year who at times have shone past the grumpy buggers at Stagecoach but have twice now shown that plonkers are us isn't just down to them and First and that all can join in. The truckers take the prize, almost universally, worldwide friendly and accommodating. Well I'm ready for Oz now and you'll just have to wait and see what happens, anyone got a few hours of Merc bus engine noises? There was an enormous ammount of orders over the weekend, three sackloads went out this morning, not much in today so far but as Buses and Classic and Vintage Commercial are due anytime it might have one more3 splutter before the holidays.
