People using the M23/A23 and Gatwick may go to use the service station just off the main road with the interesting name of Pease Pottage, don't use it, the fuel is 15p a litre more than normal and even several pence more than motorway services plus its a costa coffee place so you have to wait for them to construct coffee with all the banging and messing before you can pay. We had a good night with John and Maureen and then slept well until past our usual getting up time but as it was so drear it didn't really matter although the first flush of bus traffic for schools and the morning rush was already over. The first thing which was evident about the Eastbourne bus scene this winter is the ancient wrecks that Stagecoach are turning out which seem to be the ancient wrecks that seemed so past their sell by date 2 years ago at Canterbury. Anyway I laboured on with the cold and dull weather which was of course free from clouds and after I seemed to have captured a representative selection we headed along the coast road through Seaford and Newhaven to Brighton. The bus scene in Brioghton was more frantic than in a summer and was actually quite hard to capture without a myriad collection of pedestrians who all seemed hell bent on wakking in front of the camera wherever you stood. To make matter worse there is nowe a crossding area in the middle of Churchill Square bus station. Anyway I did fine really and soon had wquite a selection and Mandy was on her way back down to the car which was on the disabled spot by the side of the Pavilion. The weather was pretty static and we notred 7 degrees from south coast to Cheshire. We had quite a clear run up and got back about 5.15. There were masses of orders on the net to download, around 50 all told which Mandy hopes to clear before she goes out tomorrow having volunteered to be a guinea pig for the surgeon trainees at Iswestry hospital. I've had a chesty cough today and haven't been feeling that grand lets hope its vanished before we go to the opera at the RNCM on Wednesday evening where Sarah Foubert who sang at our 40th wedding do is leading in the Merry Widow. I've got all the DVD orders ready for Mandy and also in reverse we received the outstanding DVD storage boxes which we'll need as we've a lot to add to our stock before Manchester Boyle St do next weekend, if you've never been well worth attending one of the busiest indoor transport sales around. I also received an order from The Netherlands for four more of the Atlas buses which arrived very quickly and add a few new names to the range. One of the jobs for 2015 will be to extend the storage shelves in our office as we really are at capacity and models aren't being displayed to their maximum advantage. I noted from Hattons updates last week that many of the Oxford Diecast release dates are well into the back of next year including their first decker bus M&D Leyland Titan PD12. Anyway I must puch on as I'd just finished another of the west midlands DVD archive features before we went but need to take Youtube clips and stills for cover before I rattle on with the next volume.
