a cloudy misty day in Nottingham seemed a good recipe for filming on a mid November day but in the event it poured with rain, atmospheric shots though and after I'd finished the sky lightened and it would have really been superb winter filming weather. Of course November is really still out autumn and three long grim months are ahead relieved in our case by trips to Cuba and Bangladesh etc. I'll miss the Clonter Opera competition in the spring as I'll still be away. We had yet another splendid evening at Clonter, this time it was the annual autumn gal and a very well balanced repertoire and good singing. The catering was the new company first encountered at the friends of Clonter evening a while back, it still leaves a lot to be desired and really isn't fit for purpose as most diners missed out on their coffee the service was the erratic and slow. The food itself was fine but I don't think people have got used to the new arrangements. I also have to chuckle that we are met by the same volunteers each time and after the best part of 35 years attending maybe more they still ask if we know where we are going. Nottingham despite the rain produced some good shots, I'll bring you some stills tomorrow evening tonight I'll give the links to the Malta bus film clips on Youtube which are really piling on the views already. I'm now editing the third of four truck films nearly balancing the buses which produced another four programmes but extra long running such was the plethora of material gathered on the trip. Just changed out of dj and in dressing gown ready for a tea and pills such is the lots of being in ones 60s these days, statins and tea vicar, yes that would be lovely. I tired the latest limited edition Marks & Spencer salted chocolate cake which really did taste quite delicious. Amongst the buses we saw the British Legion poppy appeal bus which is nicely presented and on the back has the names of Nottingham area men who died in war. The West Bridgeford UDC centenry bus was also out and about a lot. Nothing else momentous, I'll get the last two Malta truck DVDs finished tomorrow and then get back to the West Yorkshire archive and the Nottingham we have just shot and then get the magazine New Year edition adverts prepared. I'm hoping for a nice lay in tomorrow morning.
