We are both quite tired after the dash down to Eastbourne on Tuesday, a quick blog as my head is spinning a bit. The sorting table is full we are now putting DVD orders out on the dining table as overflow. They'll all go out tomorrow. We had a lovely evening out with John and Maureen Bishop last night and stayed at the rather basic Travelodge but for one night it did the job. My heart nearly stopped while typing just now a blessed huge rocket firework went off in a garden behind us, I guess they are having a pre lock down bonfire night but having spent time in war and battle zones it always frightens me when I don't know it is going to happen. We did call at Guildford on the way up which was on my to do list but it was a waste of time and other than a drink and piece of cake we were on our way again in 30 minutes and stopped at Stevenage and I managed to get an hour out of that. Yesterday in blustery sunshine and cloud with a bit of rain I did the best I could to film at Fareham and Portsmouth. Notable that no Stagecoach in the new livery and overall nothing new at all to see but a catch up nevertheless. I picked up some more of Johns films for scanning and of course returned those I had copied. It seems a long time ago when I first did telecine copies. I also picked up half the Robin Hannay collection which I'll scan and then contact Robin with DVD copes and see if I can collect the remainder and hopefully we can lodge the collection with the OTA at Shrewbury. When I'm up to date editing the latest DVDs I'll take a look at the films I scanned over the past week. I would have done about over 40 hours by the time I finish the batches sitting here. from that I hope to extract plenty of features to keep you all occupied in lock down and stocked up for Christmas. The outstanding main locations to film are now Swindon, Bath,Accrington,Blackburn,IOW,Scotland,Southern Ireland,HighWycombe,Redditich,Kingston,on Thames, Harrogate and Lancaster. Little chance of getting them all done before New Year. Of course we can try and get some truck filming as well and I did note at least three new locations coming back up the A1 today from Stevenage. We need to address the issue of our oldest DVDs some where just downloads from the tapes of VHS. As the amount of scanned cine becomes available and the ease of access and editing with digitised images. I think tomorrow will be taken up with getting DVDs done in the morning. Editing DVDs in afternoon then a few minutes on the diorama as a bit of a break. Having a sit with the soaps in tv tonight. I'll have to get out of the office those blasted fireworks sound like they are bombing us.No further trips planned in 2020 other than English locations. We'll hopefully get out and about when to madness ends, if it ever does! I am doing a CHRISTMAS SPECIAL DVD this year, a lots of Christmases we have been away filming and although the first few were pre video there are many other I can put together as a bit of a special to cheer us all up! Among locations covered at Christmas was Uruquay. Comments are closed.
