The wind struck in the night and our recycle bins have both vanished although the lids are still here. I found the food waste bin over the road wedged under a car. I went out first thing and topped up all the bird food in the garden. The concert last night was an absolute joy, there were a few empty seats due I'm sure entirely to the foul weather conditions, that said other than the strong wind in the night we have hardly any snow left here and temperatures have been above freezing and the remaining ice on the car has melted. I've got a cheap return ticket on the train to London booked for Tuesday, everything should be back to normal in most parts by then. Tom took a picture of a Snipe in their garden this week, we've still got the small flock of Reed Buntings and the rest of our usual bird varieties. I popped into Northwich today to get some cream and biscuits, essentials for surviving the weather of course. I went round to Vicar Jane this afternoon for my regular Friday ministry meeting, I'm taking the prayers on Mothering Sunday, a week to prepare for that. I did get my course assignment finished, it's with my fellow churchwarden Keith who is proof reading for me, then I can get it submitted but no time to rest on my laurels as I have to get the proposal in for my next assignment the week after next. It's coming up to birthday season, that's crept up on me. Mandy and Sue went on a day out in Sri Lanka to the botanical gardens and elephant sanctuary near Kandy plus and how unlikely is this the railway museum! I've got everything prepared for Messy church on Sunday at Over Peover if anyone is risking the weather, I think it's just down to Jane and myself but we can cope with most things that are thrown our way. I've downloaded a few films for a friend of a friend from college and a few other films which might come in handy as I contemplate another Bus Spot Ultra, possible featuring Bournemouth and Southampton. The heating has been on all day and it's still chilly indoors, I hate the cold. No DVD orders at all I think the weather is on people's mind at the moment. Anyway I need to do covers for the last round of bus DVDs I'll see if I can get that fixed this evening. Sorting out jobs at St Oswalds tomorrow with Tom, mystery at the moment is the 'missing' tea urn. Comments are closed.
