I had to do a re-edit on the second part of the 60s buses in London which has also now been changed on the digital version. It was a fault on the master which suddenly stopped after 40 minutes. Anyone who uprchased a copy get in touch and I'll send a new disc out with the corrected film at full duration. We have finished editing and put trailers on Youtube of our visit to the A50 in Staffordshire on Wednesday. Yesterday was one of shopping, gardening and editing. I hope to get another couple of bus / tram archives done over the weekend. It is cloudy on this bank holiday morning but I think the sun will burn through. Yesterday evening when I went out to water the plants it had suddenly gone warm at about 19 deg C. This morning it is 15 but we hope that it will get better and perhaps we shall take a walk. 75 years ago the second world war in Europe ended, among those who were still battling with the Japs in Burma was my grandfather who was in both world wars, he came back with TB and lingered a shadowy figure in the corner until the late 1940s back home in Dunmanway, West Cork. We had several very brave people in my adopted mum's family who died in or slightly later from wounds and infections who were outstanding in their bravery. We had uncles who parachuted at midnight the advance D Day party to capture the enemy forward control and command posts , he was shot and mortally wounded as he descended over France. Another was a navigator, a sergeant in command of bombers who was awarded the highest non officer medal for the large number of sorties he accomplished, his luck perhaps inevitably eventually ran out and was blown out of the sky over Germany. Of course we have our own battle at present, I've only caught odd bits of corona noise, I avoid the tv and radio / press propaganda messages and try just to distill the immediate effects on us and PMP. I understand that scraggy head will tell us the next stage on Sunday, can't wait ( not). We hope that you all enjoy a pleasant bank holiday weekend, we should have had a whole series of events in our village, going on the past couple of weeks it will be BBQs, not at No17 though, can't stand burnt food. Anyway I've re-booked two of the properties in Pantanal for next year as we eventually gave up on travel this July. I've one more to go and have a few different options. Meanwhile some more photos from the A50 Uttoxeter roundabout. Comments are closed.
