It is quite sad and worrying that each batch of video tapes I touch in efforts to convert to digital seems to have at least one which is breaking up with noise that cannot be easily removed. Thankfully we do have second generation copies and DVD plus especially Mini Dv the quality of image was fantastic, a lot better rendition than today's digital images.I've been working on the 1996 trip all around Romania, running tapes through the cleaner like they are going our of fashion, well running the cleaner through the player to be precise. Perhaps the fault is more the player and I do have several in store. The efforts go on though and it produces digital downloads of master films and clips for Youtube. As we are hoping to get to Romania for the first of our post Corona transport trips it is good to see how it was 25 years ago. Mandy systems have now vanished but Romania still boasts a good count of tram and trolleybus towns and cities. Moving aside for a minute I must mention my niece Rebecca who has announced that she is having a baby and now engaged, we wish the happy couple so much for their future. We had the pleasure of many holidays with my cousin Lynda with her children Rebecca and Daniel.. The children grew up in Cyprus so it was a pleasure introducing them to the various parts of the British Isles. I've had a busy day finishing off my tiny figures for the dioramas which are coming along well. I've now got copies of the kits for the retail park and I'll make several variations with will fill the eastern side of the 197o's-90's scene. In 1996 on the grand tour of Romania I was only taking a few stills for use on the then video covers. I'll be putting trailers from the first three days there on Youtube and have already uploaded the first two as digital downloads of unedited material on the PMP Shop. We look forward to welcoming back our close friend Sue who has been in a bubble with us through the lock downs, it will be great to have some company but no sitting in the garden as winter returns with vengeance tomorrow, just spot on for a public holiday Monday. |
