The triple glazing seems to be a great success and with minimal disturbance to ourselves and the house, from outside it looks well balanced as both the upper front windows have been replaced plus the side window above the garage all accomplished by Northwich glass who by the way cut up the glass panels for my model display cabinets which live in the PMP office, yes I write surrounded by buses, trams, fire engines, truck, lorries, cars etc etc. It seems that my friends are all departing on trips, Martin in Burma and John off to Edinburgh, well tomorrow I've got Manchester twice well Hale really with physio in the morning then 5pm at the Spire hospital in Manchester with Prof Jari. Lets hope the physio Jill doesn't knock too much out of my knee so I can get the OK from the prof to step up on the activity front. After a rough day of pain in the knee yesterday I was surprised to get off to sleep so quickly, the is virtually no residual noise from the motorway and even the odd car on our estate road in now just a quiet hum. I found it hard to get up as I could have spent a few more hours asleep but there are always jobs to be done, all or nearly all photos filed away and thousands more now on our Smugmug still photo sales site see links page. These cover lots of recent trips home and abroad. I managed to get a lot more of the old black and white images changed to positive images and all the 'spares' kicking around on various 'drives' have been gathered together to have a final edit or bin and clean up the computer a bit. This afternoon we went to Gordale Garden centre on the Wirral and have a talk by their knowledgeable staff followed by a cream tea, very nice especially on a fasting day. Then we bought some autumn flowering wall flowers and some violas for the front centre bed. I've got lots of bulbs to put in once I get the OK from the doc. I've requested more sleeping pills from health centre as I only got 7, so far they have about 50/50 chance of working which at least means I get some really good nights. I managed to get up the full flight of stairs at home unaided and back down, the knee feels weak and strange but I need some practice in this and again need the physio to guide me how much I can do. The crutches still have a mind of their own and leap about in all directions like poltergeists. German tram archives fit in around all other activities with at least one a day emerging.
