It was a case of imparting sad news all round although few will shed that many tears for my dad, Jim O'Grady. I found out via my sister in law and it was the first direct contact we had and we shared a lengthy telephone conversation pooling our knowledge of the O'Gradys and Jim's antics and other family issues. I had to break the news of the passing of Graham my brother in law who is a lot more sadly missed than Jim will ever be but as it turns out that I'm a spitting image for Jim it is sad that I never met him but I did speak once and had a short note back. The detail in his account of the relationship with my mother made sense around the localities, the people and the dates etc but obviously was told from a very different perspective and through a telescope of many decades. The information he gave me certainly started the ball rolling and enabled me to get in touch with many other relatives. Mandy and I are visiting my 'new' aunt Monica in Cambridgeshire a week tomorrow, lots of talk and tea then and hope to get some more insight into my family. Now Jim is no longer with us it should be easier to get his name on my birth certificate and obtain my Irish passport. The rain has been relentless today although most of the time I was working indoors. I've ordered the perspex up to complete the doors on the display units, three are now complete. Some remedial and finishing off work to go but more or less all my models are now housed in dust proof display cabinets and safe. I'd hoped to get so many jobs finished today , I did a few but haven't edited yesterdays films or filed photos but DVD orders were sent out on time. The rain is flooding the garden yet again and the roads in our area are quite bad. Photos from Stratford upon Avon yesterday, not sure what is going to happen tomorrow. Comments are closed.
